2008-09
Congratulations to Dave and Connie Radford for being the Gilhooly Award winner for hte 2008-09 season.
2005-06
This year, two individuals were recognized for their longstanding volunteer efforts with the KGHA. Gail Sullivan is recognized for her work on the Executive, managing teams, and leading community service efforts with teams she had been involved with, and on behalf of the KGHA. Toni Hoffe is also recognized for her managing roles, and especially for the countless hours she puts in to ensure our tournaments continue to support the association, and offset registration fees to the extent they do.
2004-05
Terry and Judy Atwood were recognized at the 2005 banquet for their enormous investment in the KGHA, in both Executive and team roles, and in support of the tournaments that fund so much of our activities. During the presentation of the award, it was noted that the association is also benefiting from the volunteer contributions of their daughter, who assisted one of our teams this past season.
2003-04
The winner of the Gilhooly Award for the 2003-2004 season is Dave Bellefeuille. Dave was the overwhelming vote getter from the association. Over the past number of years Dave has contributed significantly to the association through his work on the Executive as Vice President and Publicity Coordinator as well as coaching. The Association thanks Dave for his contribution. Congratulations.
2002-03
The 2002-2003 award winner is Dave Parker. Over the past two years Dave has been the coordinator of our tournaments. When Dave started the tournaments were a financial drain on the association. We had one tournament which attracted approximately 50 teams. With his diligence and persistence, Dave grew the tournaments to the point were we have to hold them on two different weekends, attracting a total of 180 teams. The association thanks Dave for all his efforts in establishing the KGHA tournaments as one of the premiere tournaments in the province. Congratulations and thank-you Dave.
2001-02
This year the KGHA acknowledged two extremely worthy recipients – Darlene & Gary Stewart. Darlene has been involved with the KGHA for a number of years as a volunteer, player and currently is the Association’s Ice Scheduler, while Gary has served as both a coach and member of the Executive most recently coordinating Discipline & Development. We would like to thank them for their many hours of dedicated service towards making our association the best. Once again congratulations and thank-you Darlene and Gary!
2000-01
This year's recipient is Brian Lugg. Brian has been involved with our Association for a number of years as a volunteer, coach and member of the Executive in a number of capacities, most recently as the Bingo Coordinator.
1999-2000
Congratulations to the winner of the 1999-2000 Gilhooly Award: Frank Ramsey!
"Frank Ramsey has spent the last 5 years on the KGHA executive, first on Publicity and then four years as President. He also coached most of those years. As president, Frank handled all necessary duties and functions. He also went above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions. I have always been impressed with Frank's desire to make things fun for the girls and to improve the KGHA even when it meant more work, joining more committees, giving up more holidays and never shying away from confrontations or unpleasant conversations. Frank has always been far more dedicated and interested in the KGHA and its players than anyone could ever know. Whoever succeeds him has a hard act to follow." - excerpt from one of the nominations at the Annual General Meeting.
1998-99
Brian and Lise Gilhooly were the first recipients of the Gilhooly award, which was later named in their honour. They served on the executive from 1995 to 1999, with Lise serving in the role of registrar, and Brian in the role of treasurer. Brian has remained active in coaching, and once served as a scheduler. Both have supported tournaments. We are honoured to have their name on our most prestigous award!
