Here is the Titan’s plan for the 2013/14 season. Someone once said – ‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.’ So, this season plan is meant to give us a snapshot of all the activities that make up a hockey season and give us a sense of direction of when to do those activities. It is meant to be a guide that provides broad descriptions as opposed to specific prescriptions and is designed to help us have a successful hockey season.
It describes the objectives for the season (upper left-hand box) as well as the hockey objectives (upper right-hand box) – the specific items that will help us improve our ability to play the great game of hockey.
In the large panel the season has been divided into eight (8) segments (across the top row). The left-most column describes the components of our hockey curriculum. The percentages listed beside the skills/tactics/strategy descriptors are from the Hockey Canada Development Plan for the Peewee age group. More information on the HC Peewee programme is found here:
http://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/Hockey-Programs/Players/Essentials/Categories/Peewee
The remaining boxes list the other elements of the curriculum. It is intended to be a living document and the blank spaces will be filled in and the plan updated as the season progresses.
If you have any questions about the plan, or suggestions for activities, please let the coaching staff know.
Let's have a great season together, Titans!
Coach Richard
