ShareSending Our KGHA Condolences To The Ethier Family
2019-04-09
It is with great sadness that we share the news that we have lost one of our KGHA Hockey Moms this week.Heidi Ethier, mother to Francesca (KGHA Bantam B), Genevieve (KGHA PeeWee B) and Jonah (KMHA Novice B) and wife to Sheridan, passed away peacefully Monday after living life to the fullest and bravely battling cancer for many years.
Those that know Heidi will know that she worked hard to learn the ins and outs of how to be a hockey mom. But once she mastered the rules, the art and science of navigating the competitive schedules ("and don't forget school work, people!") of 3 kids - all while fighting her own cancer battle - she became one of the most passionate, supportive hockey moms we have had in our KGHA family.
Always the teacher, Heidi shared with her hockey friends all the positive experiences the KGHA has provided her family. Hockey is a place where her kids (and ours) can be part of a team, enjoy all the fun that comes with that, work hard to achieve their goals, win as a team, lose as a team - and all the wonderful life lessons that come with the journey.
She also had the biggest voice in the stands - even for the KGHA teams her kids didn't play on. She set the example for positive parenting and enthusiastic cheerleading from the stands - even when she didn't agree with (or understand) the referee's calls.
And it's with these lessons and positivity that KGHA will remember Heidi, and support Franny, "The Vieve", Jonah and Sheridan going forward. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with you all.
Visitation will be in Pembroke on Friday, April 12th, and a funeral (also in Pembroke) on Saturday, April 13th at 11 AM. More details will be posted here when they are available.
