We have two #KGHA1819 'Players of the Month' for November! Congratulations to Leah Hull & Clare Cassell from Atom AA who have been selected for this month's honours. Both girls were nominated by their coach, Andy Bryan. Here's what Andy had to say about both:
LEAH HULL:
Leah is a new player to the KGHA and right from her first practice after making our Atom AA team, she has set a phenomenal example for her teammates with her work ethic and willingness to battle in games and practices, while also impressing all of her coaches with the engaged and attentive way she constantly wants to learn. She actively seeks and then immediately implements the feedback she receives. She is most experienced as a defender, having played very little forward in the past, yet she plays her position as a right-winger on our team as well as players with much more experience playing up front. She is a great teammate who gets along extremely well with all players and helps to create a positive atmosphere with her great sense of humour and fun-loving personality.
CLARE CASSELL:
Clare worked extremely hard in spring tryouts to earn herself a spot on the Atom AA Rangers. She put in a lot of time over the summer to improve and was really looking forward to our season starting in late August. Unfortunately Clare broke her forearm while riding her bicycle just as our season was beginning. This put her a month behind her teammates, but determined not to let her injury affect her more than it had to, she continued to skate in all team practices and do as many drills as she could, while in a cast. During this time, she had a positive attitude. She showed tremendous work ethic and came back just in time for our first tournament of the season in Oakville. She’s come back strong as a great contributor to the early season success of her team.
