2018-09-04
Congratulations to this month's Player of the Month, Kenzie Shaw, from PeeWee HL. Way to go, Kenzie!Kenzie was nominated by a former coach who, to the day, still remembers her mental strength and willingness to do things the right way; which always reminds him not to allow players to take the easy road, to be lazy or most importantly - to quit.
1. How long have you been playing hockey?
I have been playing hockey for two years. This will be my third season!
2. What position do you play?
Left Wing
3. Favourite food or pregame meal?
It used to be grill cheese but now probably pasta with meat sauce.
4. What is the best part of playing hockey?
Definitely making new friends and learning new hockey skills.
5. What is the hardest part of playing hockey?
When I first started playing it was understanding all the rules but now probably raising the puck up high.
6. What is your favourite hockey memory?
Definitely my first goal. I was so excited and so were my teammates. My coach saved the puck, wrapped it in tape and wrote the date on it. I still have it.
7. Who is your favourite player?
My sister, Taylor Eastwood, who plays for the Lady Sens or Bobby Ryan for the Ottawa Senators.
8. Favourite Sport/Activity Outside of Hockey?
Art. I love to draw and write.
9. When you are older where do you see yourself playing hockey?
I don’t really know. I hope that I am still playing when I am older and making new friends.
