A Feel Good Story About Giving Back

2018-05-10

On April 30, 2018, Lindsay Burns stopped by the Hobbins Hockey Shop at the Bell Sensplex to get her skates sharpened in preparation for her ladies summer league.

She got chatting with Erik, the owner of HHS and current KGHA VP of Finance & Admin. We found out that Lindsay was an original Kanata Ranger, way back when there were only two teams in the league! The majority of her teammates were Rangers as well.

Their team name is still Rangers, but unfortunately everyone on their team had different jerseys, some even without numbers. Something had to be done for these ladies who paved the way for so many young Rangers who’ve followed in their footsteps…

We believe in giving back, so we hooked Lindsay and her Ranger teammates up with some Kanata Rangers jerseys – home and away, brand new socks – home and away, skate towels and official Kanata Rangers warmup pucks.

We had Erik, President Trevor Rose, as well as PK, Ila, Jaie and Cam from the Rangers on hand last night to present the ladies with their new setup.

We are honoured to pay it forward and know that these jerseys have a great home. Their new owners are so proud to wear them and represent the Rangers. We wish them the best of luck this season and in seasons to follow. Go get ‘em Rangers!
