For Lindsay Eastwood, hockey is everything. But, heading into her freshman season at Syracuse, there was a moment when it seemed like her one passion would be ripped away from her.Diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder, Eastwood's hockey career abruptly came to a halt, as she could no longer participate in non-contact sports. After a year without hockey, Eastwood was rewarded with a miracle; the disease reversed itself.

Congratulations on your much deserved Cuse Award, Lindsay, we are so proud of you! You are an inspiration to every young female athlete in the KGHA, or anywhere else for that matter. Congratulations, on behalf of the entire Kanata Girls Hockey Association.
The cuse awards were awarded last night in the awards' 12th annual installment. Lindsay won the 'Courage Award' which goes to a student-athlete who has overcome challenges and demonstrated bravery in the face of adversity. Eastwood recovered from a rare autoimmune disease which kept her from competing in her first year at Syracuse.
