Lady Sens goalie Moncton bound

Lady Sens goalie Melika Florent will be in the nets for the Aigles Bleues of Moncton University next season, the Ottawa Senators Women's Hockey Club and the Kanata Girls Hockey Association are pleased and proud to announce.

 

Florent signed the papers this weekend at the Stoney Creek University Showcase tournament, agreeing to attend Canada's largest French-language university outside of Quebec. 

 

It was quite a weekend for Florent, who enters her first year with the Lady Sens junior team. Not only did she confirm a hockey home for next season with Moncton University, but she allowed only one goal in three games at the tournament, posting a shutout and sharing another, as her Lady Sens team went 4-1.  

 

When she dons Moncton's blue and gold, Florent will pursue studies in the health sciences area.
