The Ottawa Lady Sens returned home from the university showcase tournament in Stoney Creek, near Hamilton, Sept. 16 to 18, with a 4-1 record, giving up only three goals in five games.

The Lady Sens swept their American opponents in the opening round, finishing on top of their division with a 4-0 record after the first two days of play.

The Sens did not surrender a goal on the first day, downing the Chicago Fury 8-0 and the Chicago Mission 1-0. In day two play, in a battle of capital cities, Ottawa edged the Washington Pride 1-0, and then nipped the Connecticut Polar Bears 2-1 in the second game.

In the quarter-final on the final day, the Lady Sens outshot PWHL rival Mississauga Chiefs 24 to 14, but surrendered 1-0 lead with just five minutes left in regulation play. The overtime was settled early as the Lady Sens carried a late penalty into the extra stanza and the Chiefs took advantage of the four-on-three situation.

Goalies Melika Florent and Kayle Osborne each had a shutout in the tournament; the duo shared in another.

The Lady Sens return to action on the Sept. 23 and 24 weekend with league games at the Goulbourn Recreation Complex. On Saturday, they host the Bluewater Hawks at 12:15. Sunday's tilt is against the Durham West Lightning at 2:15.
