Former Lady Sen named UOIT hockey freshman of the year

Kassidy Ford, who patrolled the blueline for the Lady Sens Intermediate AA team in 2015-16, was named rookie of the year on March 30 by her University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) hockey team.

This past season, Ford played a shutdown role for the Ridgebacks, often in the top pairing, and getting a regular turn on the penalty kill. She appeared in 22 conference games, recording two assists.

From Gananoque, Ford studies kinesiology at UOIT, which is located in Oshawa.
